[un]reliable narrator
[un]reliable narrator, is an exploration of sorts, a mining of my experiences ranging from more than a decade of service in the Marines, including deployments to Afghanistan and Iraq, to fatherhood and tea parties with my daughter. In this work I seek to highlight those people and moments that exist within the margins of the stories about warfare. Often using materials found on the battlefield, which come imbued with a specific history, in juxtaposition to those found within the everyday domestic, I create art that maintains essential truths while simultaneously questioning autobiography and authenticity.
